Swimming

Most Condominium and Town-home Complexes offer heated Swimming Pools in the summer months. You can also swim at Horseshoe Lake, The Whitmore Pool and Snowcreek Athletic Club.

Horseshoe Lake

The only lake in the Mammoth Lakes Basin where swimming is permitted. The other lakes supply the town`s domestic drinking water. Follow Main Street to Lake Mary Road. Continue to the end. Remember, the lake is created by melting snow. Please observe the warning signs for C02 gas emissions in the Horseshoe Lake area.

Snowcreek Athletic Club:

Snowcreek Athletic Club has the privilege of offering both an outdoor and indoor pool for a leisurely family swim. Open to members and to non-members for a nominal fee. For more information call Snowcreek Athletic Club.

Whitmore Pool

Whitmore Pool is fed by natural hot springs, the pool has a 360-degree view of the Eastern Sierra. The facility includes a six lane 25-meter pool, children`s wading pool, restrooms, hot showers, lawn area, BBQ and vending machines. The pool is open from approximately mid-June through early September. There is a nominal fee per person. The facility is available for private use by reservation.
